The notes that accompany each student handout carry practical advice for carrying out a lesson, information on common student solutions, and often, mathematics background that will help teachers interpret students' work. Hints on using technology and alternative assessments are embedded throughout each unit. Additionally, background information about the real-world problem gives teachers enough information to feel comfortable doing a math unit in, for example, a population biology context.
